Description:
fragment of silk, probably from a skirt or furnishing panel, with pattern of flowering and fruited vines in shades of pink, blue, brown, red and green; one selvedge edge present, folded onto the reverse and partly bound by a band natural silk plainweave; small (18x18 cm) square of same natural silk plainweave attached on two sides to back of panel, possibly part of a lining; near this same end, the panel is pieced with two further small fragments of the brocaded silk to form a longer length; all stitching on the fragment is hand sewn
